We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager for our Zapopan operations. The Operations Manager will report to the Site Manager. The Operations Manager will be responsible for achieving performance goals in production, receiving, shipping, testing, and warehousing while providing daily direction and leadership to the Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) teams..

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and comply with all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives, including the SimsMMway Program, to ensure a safe work environment.  This may include conducting Safety Conversations and submitting HazReps.
  • Establish production priorities and monitor production flows to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective production within the plant, including the development of daily production schedules, inventory, resources, and customer requirements.
  • Manage and ensure delivery of operations reports.
  • Collaborate with lines of business on new and existing customers to analyze profitability.
  • Cultivate a well-trained workforce, including support of performance management and succession planning initiatives.
  • Maintain a general understanding of processes and machinery.

 

  • Oversee processing or testing of materials and facilitate outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Achieve performance goals by directing the activities of the workforce while attaining optimum process efficiency.
  • Provide mentoring and support for direct reports.
  • Review monthly cost information with staff and assist in the annual budget.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and team environment; ensure that all employees are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Support building the quality management system.
  • Data gathering and analysis.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to employees.
  • Production planning and control, meeting our clients' SLAs and turnaround time.
  • Optimize workflow processes to maximize efficiency and throughput.
  • Monitor, improve, and implement key performance indicators.
  • Supply chain and purchasing (quoting, sourcing, accounting control)
  • Create and implement preventive, containment, and corrective actions with root cause analysis. e.g. 8D.
  • Oversee the different processes on site.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Accountable for running the operations on site smoothly and reporting to the site manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree; advanced diploma; Level 4 award, certificate, or diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar occupation or industry
  • Fully bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to analyze, develop, establish, and maintain efficient workflow processes
  • Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Objective and analytical
  • Ability to analyze information and problem-solve.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma/5S concepts.
  • Ability to effectively comply with strict deadlines.

Salary Range

50,000 to 55,000 MNX before taxes per month (depending on experience)
