For more than 100 years, Sims has been at the center of the circular economy by recovering and recycling products and materials to generate maximum value and minimize waste.
We believe in environmental responsibility and the importance of addressing the shared global challenge of climate change. Sustainability is more than just what we do; it’s who we are. Each year, Sims helps divert millions of tons of secondary materials from landfills.

Sims leads in safety performance because we do not wait to respond to incidents but address risks proactively through our global lead indicator programs. We address Critical Risk first and foremost, ensuring we continually evaluate and improve our process controls.
The EHS Management System supports our core values, defines our global EHS strategic elements, and directs our operations in protecting employees from health and safety risks and the community from environmental impacts.

We are part of the communities where we operate. From food kitchens in Chicago to pollinator orchards in Ireland, we support communities through direct charitable giving and employee volunteering.
As an organization founded in Australia, we recognize the role our company must take in building a future of shared, sustainable prosperity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. In 2021, we formalized our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Since implementing the Reflect RAP, we have spent more than $2.2M AUD with Indigenous-owned businesses and administered cultural competency training to more than 80% of our frontline leaders and commercial teams in Australia.
