Purpose of the Role 

The Junior Finance Planning and Analyst will support the Finance team by assisting in financial analysis, data organization, and reporting activities that contribute to informed decision-making and process improvement. This role is designed to provide exposure to financial planning within a quality- and compliance-focused business environment, giving insight into how finance supports operational efficiency, risk management, and long-term strategic goals through structured frameworks like QMS and Financial Maturity Models.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Conduct in-depth revenue and profitability analysis across office locations, client accounts, and customer segments
  • Support U.S. budgeting and forecasting processes, providing analytical input and financial insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly business analysis and reporting packages for key stakeholders.
  • Provide support for CAPEX requests and business case analysis
  • Monitor and enhance KPI performance through continuous benchmarking, review, and development.
  • Help update and analyze financial tracking tools and reporting dashboards using Excel
  • Prepare and deliver analytical presentations to management, supporting leadership in implementing improvements.
  • Extract, validate, and manage system data to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the business analysis data warehouse.
  • Contribute to global finance and business improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Assist in organizing, cleansing, and analyzing financial and operational data
  • Learn how financial controls and performance metrics are integrated with our QMS framework
  • Contribute to internal process documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in evaluating financial workflows using models such as the Financial Management Maturity Model (FMMM) or similar frameworks
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

Experience and Qualifications Required

 

  • Degree level in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline.
  • 1-3 years of finance or related experience.
  • Analytical and highly numerate.
  • Experience with business analytics tools such as Power BI would be beneficial.

 

Skills and Competencies 

 

  • A moderate level of analytical ability.
  • High attention to detail with an ability to avoid material mistakes.
  • Ability to think laterally contributes to ongoing improvements in systems and processes.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills - in particular, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
  • Team player – willing to be part of a team and supportive of other team members.
  • Curious and eager to learn about financial processes within a certified operational environment
  • Exposure to or interest in quality systems (like ISO standards) or structured improvement models is a plus

 

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid on-site role with occasional travel to SLS sites.

 

Physical Demands

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.
  • Typical use of office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, walking, and telephone speaking and listening.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, fitted dust mask, etc., as required.
