Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform day-to-day invoicing of client inbound and/or outbound material
  • Create monthly statements for specific clients and request refunds as needed.
  • Ensure clients’ shipments are settled in a timely manner to not miss predetermined SLA’s.
  • Responsible for data extraction requests from other departments about past client settlements.
  • Work to streamline settlement processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Perform day-to-day invoicing of outbound customer sales, including wholesale and ecommerce sales.
  • Proactively interface with product sales teams at all SLS locations for problem resolution.
  • Prepare monthly reports for distribution to management.
  • Approve sales orders after verifying customer credit worthiness; review and approve any credit memos.
  • Assist in month end close by creating spreadsheets used for accrual purposes.
  • Support and recommend continuous improvement initiatives and foster compliance with quality requirements
  • Support and ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Liaise with management, internal and external auditors, and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Meeting Settlement SLAs
  • Provision of clear rationale and actions to rectify where issues prevent settlement
  • Processes up to date and accurate
  • Number of efficiency improvements identified

 

Key Relationships

  • Internal – Plant Managers, Commercial, Product Sales, Accounting and Administrative personnel
  • External - Clients, Customers

 

Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience including clients/customers, AR follow-up
  • Prior experience using computer accounting systems

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Competency in Adobe Acrobat
  • High degree of detail, accuracy, and personal accountability
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet various deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Microsoft Dynamics/Navision experience preferred
