  • Pay Range $40 - $50 per hour DOE
  • Hours: 2p – 10:30p Monday – Friday with overtime as required including weekends and holidays. Will start on first shift (6a to 3p) for training (approximately one month) then move to second shift
  • Non-Union

 

Job Summary:

Plan, coordinate work and contribute to the efficient running of processing operations by participating in the repair and maintenance of complex plant and equipment in a safe manner and by providing discretion within his/her level of skills and training. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs work individually under limited supervision or in a team environment
  • Performs work in accordance with standard operating procedures and from complex instructions and procedures
  • Undertake routine maintenance of relevant plant and equipment in accordance with scheduled requirements in a safe and efficient manner
  • Undertake fault finding to identify the root cause of a mechanical or electrical issue and implement measures to effectively solve this issue in a safe manner
  • Operates lifting equipment incidental to the work
  • Performs non-trade tasks incidental to the work
  • Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards
  • Participate in any major shutdowns to ensure tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner as required
  • Participate in any plant / equipment installation and commissioning process as required
  • Follow safe work practices including but not limited to lock out/tag out and isolation techniques
  • Understands and implements quality control techniques
  • Provides trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team
  • Follow safe work practices including but not limited to lock out/tag out and isolation techniques
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Support diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork
  • Support measures designed to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirements
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to job
  • Support training and performance-management initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree; advanced diploma; Level 4 award, certificate, or diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • Trade qualification, higher apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to four years of relevant experience
  • Three years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferred

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals at multiple levels and to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to follow proper safety protocols 
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Excellent attendance record 
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude 
  • Ability to adapt to change, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to drive mobile plant equipment may be required
