About the job
This is a Buyer Intern role. Our Business Development team is seeking recent college graduates to fill our Buyer Trainee roles. Buyer Trainees will learn the process of buying discarded metal – commonly known as scrap metal – from suppliers within a given territory. As a trainee, you will be enrolled in a one-year program preparing you to manage your own territory. You will be responsible for recycling at the processing yards in your assigned region.
Throughout the 12-month program, you will receive field-based training and shadow a team of seasoned experts from our Operations, Commercial, and Support functions. You will also receive comprehensive leadership and professional development training, where you will engage with leaders from other programs across our global operations. Travel to locations within the US and occasionally overseas may be required.
After the year-long training program concludes, you will be considered for a permanent role on the Sims Metal team.
