Job Summary:

Performs general yard labor. Operates excavator, material handler (grapple/magnet), front-end loader, and forklift to assist in unloading customers and loading trailers to prepare for the transport of scrap materials as required. Inspects incoming material and grades accordingly.

Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulic-powered bucket or forks to lift and transport bulk material to and from storage or processing areas by performing the following duties:

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Excavator Operator
  • Load and unload customers’ trucks/vehicles.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
  • Perform and maintain general housekeeping.
  • Responsible for customer and employee safety in and around the work area.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 3 to 5 years’ experience working with heavy equipment
  • Experience operating an excavator
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be able to comfortably wear a respirator.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, and other correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.

 

Pay rate:

$20.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on heavy equipment operation experience.
