Job Summary:

The Loader operator operates material handler (grapple/magnet), front end loader and forklift to assist unloading customers and load trailers to prepare for transport of scrap materials. Inspects incoming material and grades accordingly.

Operates straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulic powered bucket or forks to lift and transport bulk material to and from storage or processing areas by performing the following duties:

Primary Responsibilities:

· Load & unload customer’s trucks/vehicles.

· Starts engine, shift gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.

· Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.

· Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.

· Perform & maintain general housekeeping.

· Responsible for customer & employee safety in and around work area.

Qualifications:

· 3 to 5 years’ experience working Heavy Equipment

· High school diploma or GED.

· Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, & memos.

· Ability to speak and understand English.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
