Job description

 

Summary Description

The Regional Project Manager is responsible for handling projects through their life cycle - initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing – and engineering related to operations, processes and SHECS compliance.

The Regional Project Manager acts as the Local PMO representative for the region.

 

Qualifications/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field

· Experience in construction project useful

· Recycling industry background preferred but not required

· Effectively able to manage workflow, multiple tasks and timelines

· Strong analytical skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Familiarity with MS Project, CAD software

· Ability to operate independently and “self-manage” project timelines

· Ability to occasionally travel to other facilities within the region (about 60% of time; <150 miles RT)

 

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with the SMM management team to facilitate completion of projects within timeline and budget

• Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of critical project activities for the region

• Use technical background to make recommendations and/or engineer in-house solutions when applicable

• Communicate with vendors to provide direction and ensure the pre-established project plan is properly followed, in compliance with SMM latest policies

• Identify and escalate the correction of any conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget.

• Develop monthly tracking and forecasting reports for all ongoing projects (timeline and budget)

• Act as the Local PMO and ensure accuracy of reporting

• Visit regional facilities to become familiar with SMM various processes, identify opportunities for improvement and propose solutions that are aligned with organizational initiatives

• Become familiar with existing SMM software platform

• Actively participate in supporting the region global effort to reach the Corporate Sustainability Goals.

• Stay abreast of technology trends and best practices in area of expertise by attending trade shows, industry conferences, and reading topical journals and publications, etc.

• Participate in continuous improvement strategies over our health, safety initiatives and sustainable.

• Developmental opportunities will be provided for individuals who wish to grow or expand their role.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands are such that one needs to participate in facility walk-throughs, actively engage management on-site, and be able to identify equipment on the ground. Proper personal protective equipment is provided, as such, one must be able to walk in steel-toed boots for lengthy periods of time.
