Are you an experienced and highly independent specialist in the field of QSHE who is strong both operationally and administratively? Would you like a position in an international team in the field of IT equipment at Sims Lifecycle Services in Son en Breugel (near Eindhoven)? You report to the EHS Director in the United States and receive support from the Site Manager in Eindhoven and EHS colleagues at the European sites.

 

You may have noticed that the 'Q' is missing from our position of EHS Specialist and that is correct. Your main responsibility lies with Safety and Health, with some overarching tasks in the field of Environment. We have a Coordinator who focuses primarily on quality, with whom you will also work closely. Since the EHS colleagues are located at other sites in other countries, this is a very independent role with a high degree of responsibility in the field of Safety and Health.

 

What are you going to do?

As an EHS Specialist, you are ultimately responsible for guaranteeing safety, occupational health and safety, and the environment at our site in Son en Breugel (Eindhoven). Your duties include a mix of office and operational work, such as:

  • Coordinating and facilitating the quality management system;
  • Stimulating safety awareness, including by carrying out active measures site safety rounds, organizing toolbox meetings and workplace inspections;
  • Maintaining risk inventories and evaluations (RI&E) to identify and address potential hazards;
  • Directing and advising the emergency response organization and management to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Manage and maintain various certificates, e.g. ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 and Weeelabex, including coordinating the annual audits;
  • Act as a sparring partner for management and directors when making decisions regarding occupational health and safety.

Who are you?

  • HBO working and thinking level
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar position in a high-risk industrial environment;
  • Substantive knowledge of current Dutch legislation and regulations in the field of occupational health and safety & environmental management;
  • Experience with management systems in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001 and VCA is a great advantage.
  • Very independent and high sense of responsibility as it is a very solo position;
  • Excellent social skills; clear communication, pleasant interaction with colleagues and customers, we are not looking for a 'police officer' but rather a motivator!
  • Excellent written and oral skills in the Dutch and English language; The working language within the organization is English.

  • Gross monthly salary from €3,750,- (medior) to €5,250,- (senior), excluding 8% holiday pay, based on 40 working hours per week;
  • 26 days of leave per year, based on full-time employment;
  • Commuting costs of 0.22 cents per km;
