Are you an experienced and highly independent QSHE (KAM) specialist who excels both operationally and as a coach? Apply now for the position of EHS Specialist!
At Sims Lifecycle Services B.V., we are looking for an EHS Specialist for our site in Son en Breugel (Eindhoven). You will report to the EHS Partner EU in the UK.
You may notice that the ‘Q’ is missing in our EHS Specialist role, and that’s correct. Your main responsibility is Safety and Health, with some overarching tasks in Environment. We have a Coordinator who focuses primarily on quality, with whom you will work closely. Since the EHS colleagues are based at other sites in other countries, this is a highly independent role with significant responsibility for Safety and Health.
What will you do?
As EHS Specialist, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring occupational health, safety, and environmental standards at our site in Son en Breugel (Eindhoven). Your tasks include a mix of office and operational activities, such as:
- Coordinating and facilitating the quality management system;
- Promoting safety awareness, including conducting active safety rounds on site, organizing toolbox meetings, and workplace inspections;
- Maintaining risk inventories and evaluations (RI&E) to identify and address potential hazards;
- Advising and coaching the emergency response organization (BHV) and management to ensure a safe working environment;
- Managing and maintaining various certificates, e.g., ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, and Weeelabex, including coordinating annual audits;
- Acting as a sparring partner for management and leadership in decision-making regarding occupational health and safety.

- Experience with management systems according to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001, and VCA is a strong advantage;
- Highly independent and responsible, as this is a very autonomous role;
- Excellent social skills; clear communication, pleasant interaction with colleagues and customers—we are looking for a motivator, not a ‘police officer’!
