POSTION PURPOSE:
Responsible for the day-to-day service, administration, and analysis, of benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending accounts, health spending accounts, ACA, 401(k), pension plans, COBRA and FMLA. Coordinate with benefit vendors, resolve escalated issues regarding eligibility, enrollment, and claims, oversee benefit systems, and manage the leave of absence process including disability claims and payments.
MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Subject matter expert for all leave of absences, disability, FMLA, ADA and State claims. Responsible for disability calculations, reporting, communications, and the management of the vendor.
· Administer various benefit programs which include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA plans, HSA accounts, commuter benefits, EAP, and the Company’s 3 pension plans.
· Point of contact for various benefit issues such as coverage, enrollment eligibility, family status changes, claims, and other benefit matters.
· Resolution of employee issues and data and vendor errors.
· Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
· Manage premium payments and the reconciliation of various benefit premiums/claim payments.
· Audit records and benefits eligibility periodically.
· Assist with annual open enrollment projects.
· Develop and implement communication/education programs to enhance member knowledge, appreciation, and effective use of benefits.
· Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, consultants, actuaries, brokers, record keepers and third-party administrators.
· Assist with the administration of retirement plans (401(k) plans and pension plans)
· Assist with special projects.
· Gather health benefits information from a variety of sources for completion of benefit projects.
· Understanding of all applicable government laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels, which impact employee benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting or Business Administration or relevant job experience.
· Minimum 4 years’ Corporate Benefits experience in an organization with 300+ employees
· Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
· Strong problem solving, organizational, analytical and time management skills.
· Strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral).
· Must have strong working knowledge with human resource information systems.
