Purpose of the Role:
The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobile and heavy equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, air, and power transmission systems.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of 12V and 24V electrical systems, air systems, hydraulic systems, and power transmission systems for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
- Replace hydraulic cylinders on equipment.
- Safely disassemble major equipment components.
- Assess equipment performance post-maintenance to ensure proper operation.
- Read parts and service manuals to identify necessary parts for ordering.
- Fabricate and install hydraulic hoses.
- Recognize when issues require further diagnosis and seek assistance for problems beyond a "B" level mechanic's scope.
- Diagnose and resolve common mobile equipment failures.
- Repair or rebuild minor components, such as brake systems.
- Perform welding and torching tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Technical school preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Two to four years mechanical experience required
- Valid driver's license
- Mechanical aptitude
Skills:
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Time management
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outside in various extreme weather conditions
- Ability to learn quickly and stay motivated. Work at a continuous productive pace safely
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
