General Hand
Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?
Our Wingfield site is seeking a motivated General Hand to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating machinery, directing vehicles in a safe manner as well as being part of a hardworking team that keeps operations running safely and efficiently.
You'll play a key role in day-to-day yard activities, ensuring smooth site operations while providing friendly service and support to our customers.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring safety is always adhered to when vehicles are entering the yard
- Directing vehicles when required to the appropriate area
- Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins, and trailers safely and efficiently
- Sorting, grading, and processing metals to meet operational and quality requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in line with environmental and WHS standards
- Assisting customers and providing a positive service experience
- Operating plant and equipment including forklifts, material handlers, loaders, and excavators (where licensed)
- Supporting the team with general yard duties and operational tasks as required
Who are we looking for:
- Forklift licence and operating experience (essential)
- Excavator, loader, skid steer, or other plant operator tickets (highly regarded)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn and help where needed
- Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
- Excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm to develop new skills through training
