Non Ferrous Buyer

Your New Role 

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery and be responsible for the receipt, classification and storage of Non-Ferrous Materials. 

You will be rewarded with ongoing mentoring opportunities and support from the Ferrous Team during your probation period and throughout your career within Sims, working for a sustainable growing business with class-leading technology. 

Your Responsibilities Will Include  

• Ensure customers receive a high level of service. 

• Grading and sorting materials. 

• Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to EH&S policies and procedures. 

• Load & unload trucks, skip bins and trailers. 

• Operate equipment, including forklift and/or excavator (where licensed). 

To Be Successful in This Opportunity, You Will Have 

• A proactive approach with an excellent customer service ethic  

• Forklift Licence (LF) 

• Good numeracy and mathematical skills  

• Foundational computer knowledge with the ability to complete basic data entry  

• Knowledge and understanding of scrap metal processing techniques and equipment will be highly advantageous!    

• To be able to successfully pass a crimcheck 

• Permanent Australian work rights
