Your new role

This role as a Yard Operative is based in our Welshpool yard reporting to the Yard Manager. You will be required to safely operate machinery, service customers, sort and grade materials all in a fast-paced environment. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career.

Hours are: 6.30 am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Some weekend work on occasions.

  • Prior experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential as full training will be provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Loading & unloading trucks, skip bins and trailers.
  • Operate equipment, including forklift and/or excavator (where licensed).
  • Ensure customers receive a high level of service.
  • Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained in the yard.
  • Grading and sorting materials.
  • Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to EH&S policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Forklift Licence (LF)- non-negotiable
  • Permanent Australian work rights
  • Pass a police check

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal sorting & processing techniques to international specifications being of high advantage.
  • Machine and swinging attachment experience desired but not essential. (Training will be provided)
