25 hours per week | 9:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday (flexible start/finish times).
At Sims Metal, we play a crucial role in the circular economy, transforming metal resources into something new while minimising waste and protecting the environment. As our Purchasing Coordinator / Office Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day purchasing and administration needs of our St Marys site.
This is a key support role where you’ll build strong working relationships, keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, and ensure our team has the equipment and materials they need to operate safely and effectively.
What Your Day Might Look Like

Raising and processing purchase orders for goods, services and PPE

Keeping track of accruals and ensuring invoices match POs

Checking in with contractors and suppliers about order progress

Updating spreadsheets and completing accurate data entry (mainly Excel)

Managing PPE inventory and assisting with stocktake

Helping maintain vendor records and documentation
- Other administrative services / assistance that may be required from time to time
What Helps You Thrive in This Role
You’re someone who likes to stay organised, support others, and keep things moving smoothly in the background.

Previous experience in purchasing, procurement or office admin

Confidence working with Excel and maintaining accurate records

A friendly and clear communication style

The ability to build positive working relationships

Experience with SAP or similar systems (helpful, but not essential)
