We currently have a 6-month fixed term opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our St Marys yard, working an afternoon shift.

 

Reporting to the State Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of maintenance activities, ensuring plant and equipment are maintained to a high standard and operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

 

This role operates with a flexible start time between 12:00pm – 2:00pm and finish between 8:00pm – 10:00pm (depending on operational requirements). The shift structure offers greater autonomy over your day and supports a smoother maintenance workflow during quieter operational periods.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise preventative and predictive maintenance programs across plant and equipment
  • Develop and issue daily maintenance plans and oversee work execution
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture within the maintenance team
  • Lead, coach and support team members to improve capability and performance
  • Coordinate and manage outsourced maintenance work where required
  • Develop and present recommendations for plant or equipment replacement and upgrades
  • Contribute to site-based projects and improvement initiatives as required

 

Who We're Looking For

  • Trade qualification (advantageous)
  • Experience working with heavy mobile plant and/or fixed equipment
  • Demonstrated experience supervising maintenance activities in an industrial environment
  • Flexible and practical approach to operations and maintenance demands
  • Strong leadership capability with a genuine desire to develop and support others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience with MEX & SAP will be highly regarded
  • Proven ability to implement and support continuous improvement initiatives
