Looking for a hands-on maintenance role where your skills keep critical equipment running?
We’re seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter or Boilermaker to join our maintenance team at our St Marys site. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving heavy industrial plant and equipment to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
We are open to candidates interested in day shift or afternoon shift, with afternoon shift attracting a 15% shift allowance/loading.
About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment
- Carry out blade changes, sharpening, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Fault finding, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues
- Carrying out fabrication, welding, and component repairs (Boilermakers)
- Maintaining conveyors, shredders, hydraulics, and associated equipment
- Work to a daily maintenance plan and complete all relevant documentation
- Working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Boilermaker
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or heavy equipment environments (preferred)
- Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with hydraulics, conveyors, or heavy plant (advantageous)
- Welding and fabrication experience (for Boilermakers or dual-skilled fitters)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift ticket & Elevated Work Platform (EWP) or willingness to learn (we can help you obtain this)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Current driver’s license and reliable transport
