Your new role

We’re looking for an experienced Excavator/Material Handler Operator to join our Bathurst team. Someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in running heavy machinery safely and efficiently.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating an excavator and/or material handler fitted with grabs or magnets
  • Sorting, loading, unloading, and stockpiling scrap metal
  • Assisting with grading and identifying different metal types (training provided)
  • Completing pre‑start checks and reporting maintenance issues
  • Supporting general yard operations, including material movement and housekeeping
  • Following all site safety procedures and contributing to a positive safety culture

 

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • Experience operating an excavator and/or material handler in a scrap metal, recycling, civil, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
  • An honest, reliable and safety‑focused work style
  • Strong customer focus with good communication skills
  • Forklift license (Desirable)
  • Sound judgement and accountability for your own work
