Your new role
- In this role, you’ll take ownership of developing and managing client relationships across South-East Queensland, helping to strengthen Sims Metal’s position in a highly competitive market.
- Step outside the traditional office environment and into a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You’ll leverage your negotiation skills and industry expertise to make a direct impact on the growth of our Queensland business unit while contributing to a more sustainable future through scrap metal recycling.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Procuring and pricing ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials within guidelines as determined by the Trading Manager and legislative requirements.
- Monitoring key performance metrics (price, intake, transport, bins allocations, etc.) and collaborating with the Transport department on site logistics to ensure all targets are met.
- Completing monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner and participating in meetings to discuss and review results as required with both internal teams and customers.
- Acting as the key liaison between customers and internal teams, solving issues while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Managing costs in line with budgetary requirements and financial policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria:
- 3 + years in an Account Management, Sales, or Buyer role.
- A bachelor’s degree majoring in Commerce, Business, Marketing, or a related field will be highly regarded.
- Proven expertise in relationship building, with the ability to quickly build rapport across all levels of the business and external supplier base.
- Extensive experience in negotiation and effective closing of deals.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, internal and external stakeholders’ management
- Analytical approach to identifying market opportunities.
- Knowledge and understanding of the recycling, waste management, and scrap metal Industry is highly regarded.
