Lead our NSW, VIC and NZ Transport Operation – Drive the success of our circular economy business.
We are looking for a Regional Transport Manager to lead and optimize our transport operations. In this role, you will ensure our regional logistics are safe, compliant, and cost-effective while staying aligned with our national business objectives.
You will be responsible for regional performance, managing fleet and contractor configurations, and overseeing domestic movements. A key part of your role involves elevating our leadership capability – supporting our Transport Managers so they can focus on operational excellence while you ensure regional decisions align with our broader company strategy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead all domestic transport activities and internal material movements while coaching teams to build leadership depth and succession
- Translate national enterprise transport strategies into effective operations and decision-making.
- Manage the regional fleet configuration and asset ultilisation to ensure optimal asset utilisation and performance.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations and Trading Managers to improve intake performance, service reliability, and margin optimisation.
- Oversee contractor performance, rate discipline and compliance adherence in line with enterprise standards.
- Own the regional freight budget, monitoring spends and implementing cost-management initiative to meet financial targets.
- Establish and track KPIs for service levels, asset utilisation, and operational efficiency to drive continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Over 8 years of experience in transport, mining, ports, or large-scale supply chain, with a deep understanding of heavy industry logistics.
- Proven ability to lead multi-site teams, focusing on coaching, capability development, and building long-term succession depth.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing fleet configurations and contractor portfolios to maximise asset ultilisation and efficiency.
- Experience managing significant freight and spend and influencing P&L performance through rigorous cost management and budget discipline.
- A track record of leading effectively within complex regulated frameworks, ensuring all operations remain safe and compliant.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, or a related field, combined with the ability to balance commercial goals with operational excellence.
