A permanent, full-time employment opportunity based in Rocklea, reporting to the Regional EHS Partner. You will be responsible for providing effective Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) managerial and technical support to Sims facilities across the region, and be a part of a dynamic and collaborative team of EHS professionals.

 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Implement and understand EHS policy, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with front-line teams to develop realistic procedures and goals based on actual work practices.
  • Analyse EHS data to aid management decision-making and participate in audits.
  • Assist operations with EHS tools like Risk Assessment and Critical Control Verification.
  • Facilitate EHS training and support local EHS committees.
  • Investigate EHS incidents, and communicate corrective actions.
  • Provide insights on process hazards, risk ratings, Safe Work Procedures, and Job Safety Environment Analysis.
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims and return-to-work processes.

 

About you:

  • A minimum qualification of Certificate IV or above in Workplace Health & Safety or a related field. (desirable)
  • At least 2 years of work experience
  • An interest in working with Health/Safety/Environment systems.
  • A driver's license and the ability to travel within the Queensland region.
