We're looking for a confident Operator to join our tight-knit team in Alexandria / St Peters. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing, grading and purchasing non-ferrous metals once material has been weighed in via the weighbridge, while also operating a forklift to safely move, sort and stock materials within the yard.

 

You'll be a key point of contact for customers on site, taking pride in clear communication and good customer service.

 

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (standard hours)

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Operate a forklift to load, unload and move scrap metal
  • Sort and process non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminium, brass, etc.)
  • Assess, grade and purchase material after weighbridge entry (on-site training provided)
  • Ensure customers receive a high level of service
  • Keep the yard organised, safe and running smoothly

 

To Be Successful in This Opportunity, You Will Have

  • Forklift (LF) license/ticket
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to work independently
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to undertake training to diversify your skills
  • Excellent attendance, reliability, and attention to detail
