Are you someone who enjoys interacting with people while keeping operations organised and running smoothly in a fast‑paced environment? Join our team as a Weighbridge Operator and play a key role in supporting our operations at the Newcastle yard!
As the first point of contact for customers entering the yard, you will play an important role in creating a professional and efficient experience. You will operate the weighbridge, process transactions, and assist customers while ensuring all records are accurate.
This role suits someone who enjoys interacting with people, stays organised and can balance customer service with administrative accuracy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate the weighbridge system to accurately record inbound and outbound vehicle weights
- Issue dockets, receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records
- Provide professional and friendly customer service to drivers and customers
- Coordinate vehicle flow into and out of the yard safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate data entry in internal systems
- Liaise with yard operators, supervisors, and transport teams to support daily operations
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, safety requirements, and company policies
- Assist with general administrative tasks & yard duties as required
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Previous experience in a cashier, weighbridge, customer service, or administrative role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of customers
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment with strong multi‑tasking skills
- A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
