Your new role

We are looking for safety-minded operator to join our Nelson Yard. This is an exciting opportunity to both develop and grow within the role and the business.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery to help with the efficient processing of scrap metal. Full training will be provided for the successful applicants!

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Timely and professional face-to-face customer service in the office and warehouse
  • Organise and maintain the warehouse, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and outstanding eye for detail
  • Good planning and prioritising skills
  • Ability to lift and carry stock as required in a warehouse setting

Essential Criteria:

  • Attention to detail – This role will be working with metals, requiring the position to be able to identify and separate material
  • Experience in customer service, computer skills
  • A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training in order to diversify your skills
  • Good written and verbal communication, and numeracy skills

Desirable criteria:

  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Forklift or other heavy machinery experience would be a bonus – however, training will be given if required.
