Our Napier yard is seeking someone practical and hands-on, to contribute to general yard activities, maintain smooth and safe daily operations, and assist customers with basic enquiries and service needs.
Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery in order to sort, grade and purchase metals. Full training will be provided for successful applicants!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Grading, sorting and purchasing metals.
- Load & unload trucks, bins, and trailers.
- Ensure customers receive a high level of service.
- Operate equipment, including forklifts and/or other heavy machinery
- Weighing, briquetting, bagging and palletising material for Transfer and stocktake
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Attention to detail - This role involves working with various Non-Ferrous metals and requires the ability to identify and separate different materials.
- A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and basic computer literacy.
- Previous experience in customer service and/or similar roles.
Desirable criteria:
- Forklift ticket highly regarded
- WTR license
