Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to manage our Milperra yard, reporting to the NSW Operations Manager. You’ll lead a dynamic team of 25, driving efficiency and performance across the yard. By combining strong leadership with expertise in ferrous buying, mobile equipment, and weighbridge operations, you’ll inspire and support your team to keep the yard running safely, smoothly, and successfully every day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all yard operations to ensure Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality requirements are exceeded.
• Maximise sustainable profit by establishing and implementing production goals, objectives and procedures in line with budgets and forecasts.
• Use knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and with the use of continuous improvement techniques for maximising the effective processing of scrap.
• Ensure the yard operates in full compliance with all relevant legal regulations.
• Conduct training as required, including induction of new employees.

Essential Criteria:

• 2 + years of previous leadership skills in a similar industry.
• Knowledge and understanding of the scrap metal industry and its processing techniques and equipment.
• In-depth scheduling, planning, and time management skills.
• Basic understanding NHVR mass and dimension limits.
• Experience with mobile equipment is advantageous.
