The Role:

You’ll transport scrap metal between customer sites and our yards, ensuring safe, efficient deliveries while providing great customer service. This is a hands-on role offering variety, independence on the road, and the chance to be part of a supportive, close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy vehicles to transport materials in line with company and legislative requirements
• Plan and manage daily runs to ensure efficient and timely deliveries
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide excellent service on-site
• Identify, grade and (where required) price ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Work closely with the Transport and Trading teams to meet operational targets
• Monitor and manage bins at customer sites, ensuring efficient turnover
• Report issues, hazards, and improvement opportunities promptly
• Follow all safety, environmental and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements

About You

• Valid HR licence (essential)
• Strong understanding of road transport and Chain of Responsibility legislation
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
• Basic computer skills (for systems and reporting)
• Crane and forklift experience preferable
