About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shipping Co-ordinator to join our team. This role is critical in managing our export shipping process from contract stage through to delivery at destination port, ensuring all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and arrange container export shipping to meet Buyer requirements
- Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve issues, and minimise delays/costs
- Negotiate ocean freight rates and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines and service providers
- Co-ordinate with yards, buyers, and internal teams to manage end-to-end container export operations
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with customs and regulatory requirements
- Support the trading team with freight requests within and outside tender agreements
About you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in international container export shipping/logistics
- Strong understanding of ocean freight, shipping documentation, and customs processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (experience with BSM, ICS, 1-stop, Hylands, or SAP desirable)
