Seeking a self motivated and flexible person interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. This position is responsible for managing and leading the brass production process in Manchester, ensuring both Quality and production targets are met according to SIMS processes and procedures. Working in Manchester, the successful candidate will be part of a team work under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that the Brass Production Line(s) are capable of producing the required volumes at the correct quality consistently . (Circa 800t/month according to customer specifications)
  • Ensure the team are adequately trained to produce a first class product
  • Manage and take ownership of the product quality, including the management of sampling and the release process according to procedures.
  • Maintain an effective and reliable production process, including the reduction on down time, stoppages and speed losses.
  • To ensure that all product quality is to specific customer standards and specification
  • Material Claims management -  Responsible & accountable  for reviewing data, achieve target claim reduction and implement corrective actions
  • To support facility in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislative requirements and Company SHECS guidelines
  • To exercise the authority to raise and act upon any non-conformances arising within the scope of responsibilities of the position
  • Personally demonstrate and encourage  commitment to  SHECS Management Policies  and Procedures
  • Ensure that all key reporting staff equally demonstrate their commitment
  • Review  all relative statistics and take corrective action to reach and exceed standards where necessary
  • To make decisions that relate to the day to day running of the production line.
  • Management of incoming quality and volumes
  • Manage the prioritisation of the inbound material (quality, moisture, cleanliness) to ensure it will produce the best quality product
  • Management and organisation of outbound containers, including the tracking of product to create release certificates.
  • Make decisions on product quality.
  • Ensure the correct processes are used to sort material accordingly.

 

People Management

  • Ensure compliance of direct reports with Company policy and procedures
  • Ensure all employees are competent in understanding their areas of personal responsibility
  • Encourage employees at all levels to make recommendations regarding the simplification and enhancement of policies, systems and procedure
  • Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
  • Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community
