The role:
Join a purpose-driven organisation in this newly created role, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact. As the Training and Assessment Specialist for WA operations, you’ll work closely with the Regional Operations Manager to develop and deliver tailored training programs, foster a positive learning experience, drive the achievement of training objectives, and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain our internal training platform to deliver comprehensive employee training, including induction, onboarding, role-specific, critical risk, compliance training, and licence management.
- Collaborate with Operations and EHS teams to identify effective training delivery methods, such as digital, on-the-job, buddy systems, or classroom-based formats.
- Create tailored training materials, including task-specific packages, video tutorials, pictorial guides, and competency assessments.
- Standardise training processes by simplifying content and eliminating duplication, ensuring consistency across the organisation.
- Conduct training needs assessments and develop skills and training matrices for each role and business unit.
- Facilitate and deliver training directly or coordinate subject matter experts (SMEs) and external trainers where required.
- Continuously review and improve training processes while ensuring compliance with industry requirements at our sites.
About you:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with extensive mobile plant experience in scrap metal, mining, or construction.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment with strong presentation and training skills.
- Proven ability to implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
