Your New Role
Reporting to the Ferrous Supervisor & Branch Manager, you will safely operate an excavator or front-end loader to assist in the handling, sorting, and movement of metals and materials within the yard.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Operating a front-end loader and/or excavator to move, load, and unload materials.
- Feeding materials into processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assisting in the sorting and grading of scrap metals.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Ensuring customers receive a high level of service.
- Conducting daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.
- Applying “Above the line thinking”
To Be Successful in This Opportunity, You Will Have:
- Experience operating a front-end loader & excavator (essential).
- Relevant licenses and certifications (or a willingness to obtain them).
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow OH&S procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliability, excellent attendance, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of scrap metal processing technology highly desired.
- Experience with swinging grapple attachment highly desired.
