Your New Role

Reporting to the Ferrous Supervisor & Branch Manager, you will safely operate an excavator or front-end loader to assist in the handling, sorting, and movement of metals and materials within the yard.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Operating a front-end loader and/or excavator to move, load, and unload materials.
• Feeding materials into processing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assisting in the sorting and grading of scrap metals.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Ensuring customers receive a high level of service.
• Conducting daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance of equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.
• Applying “Above the line thinking”

To Be Successful in This Opportunity, You Will Have:

• Experience operating a front-end loader & excavator (essential).
• Relevant licenses and certifications (or a willingness to obtain them).
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow OH&S procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliability, excellent attendance, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of scrap metal processing technology highly desired.
• Experience with swinging grapple attachment highly desired.
