Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing timely collection services with a focus on safety, customer service, punctuality, and a great flexible attitude. This role involves the use of a truck-mounted crane to load and collect scrap metal.
Full training will be provided for the successful applicants!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring efficient service to customers by collecting scrap metal in a timely manner.
- Communicating with management to identify any on-site concerns regarding OHS, environmental, or collection issues arising.
- Following a daily work plan for routine collections, our site safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Operating a truck mounted crane to collect scrap metal from customer sites.
- Operating any additional mobile plant/equipment (forklift, excavator, etc. where licensed) to assist with collection/loading.
- Participate in various continuous improvement and other programs as required.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- A current NZ Class 4 (or more) Driver Licence – with the ability to operate both Class 2 & Class 4 trucks.
- Ability to operate a truck-mounted crane, self-loader crane with grapple, Hiab or similar.
- High levels of customer service, good communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment.
- Flexibility with both transport and operations.
- A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
Desirable criteria:
- Truck Mounted Crane/ Hiab ticket.
- Forklift and/or WTR tickets highly regarded.
