Purpose of Role

This role will support the EMEA Sims Lifecycle Solutions Finance Manager/Finance Director to deliver an accurate and timely month end close, business profitability and performance insights. The successful candidate will gain experience of the overall finance process to enable contribution to ongoing improvements in systems and processes. This role will be based from our Stalybridge site.

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Deliver high quality month end close for 2 of our EMEA operations including preparation and posting of journals, balance sheet ledgers and intercompany reconciliations etc.
  • Collation of evidence for Group and operating controls ready for review.
  • Compilation and submission of VAT returns which includes Intrastat/EC Sales
  • Preparation of the Annual Statutory Accounts and Tax Compliance documentation working with our Group Tax Department.
  • Dealing with the Audit process through provision of information to internal and external auditors where necessary.
  • Support and assist with accounts payable and receivables, banking processes as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with business colleagues including Manager Asset Recovery, operations and sales members.
  • Supporting improvement initiatives, including analysis and tracking to identify the deliver in line with expectations.
  • Analytical reviews to identify differences to budgets and forecasts, plus any other risks and opportunities.

 

Key Performance Indicator (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and Compliance: Month End Reporting - Percentage of financial reports completed in deadlines error-free.
  • Efficiency & Productivity: Average time taken to close monthly and annual accounts and a reduction in manual errors or process bottlenecks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Stakeholder satisfaction rate with financial insignts and reports. Number of cross-departmental collaborations

Working Conditions

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment with the ability to work hybrid.
  • Occasional travel to other sites.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes and weather conditions
  • Typical use of office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, walking, and telephone speaking and listening
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc., as required
  • Must be able to take on new assignments as needed regardless of existing workload 
  • Must be able to work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner
  • Must be able to handle personnel issues and situations as they arise in a professional manner
