Lead our Cairns Operation to manage a team of 6 employees processing recycled metals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Site Supervisor managing a team of 5+ to step up, take on a new challenge, and make a real impact in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.
In this hands-on role, you will oversee all aspects of yard operations with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and efficiency. You will lead and inspire a high-performing team, optimize logistics and customer service, and build strong relationships with key suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and coordinate daily scrap metal processing, production, and truck loading/unloading activities.
- Manage and mentor a team of 6 employees (including Weighbridge/Admin and Machine Operators), supported by an on-site Team Leader.
- Optimising site efficiency by monitoring stockpile volumes, recycling streams, and key operational metrics.
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture through visible leadership, accountability, and total environmental and quality compliance.
- Drive team engagement, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria:
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing small to mid-size teams within heavy industry, manufacturing, waste recycling, or logistics.
- Strong scheduling, coordination, and planning skills to maintain the optimal operational and logistical effectiveness.
- A natural influencer who can build strong relationships, drive team engagement, and deliver high customer service.
- Previous experience with EHS management systems, project management, SAP, and SAI (highly regarded)
- Technical knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal sorting to international standards (highly advantageous)
