Your New Role
Reporting to the Non-Ferrous Commercial Manager, this position is primarily responsible for coordinating documentation for export scrap metal. You will manage the end-to-end process of export container shipping, facilitate customs documentation, and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within strict deadlines. You will also ensure that logistics processes for ferrous and non-ferrous exports align with the Export Logistics Manual and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage all export requirements, ensuring deadlines are met, including EDN and PRA lodgements.
- Coordinate cargo movements and collaborate with the Yard Manager, Trading Manager, Internal Shipping Coordinators, to meet export demands.
- Liaise with Yard Managers to ensure compliance with all export requirements.
- Take full ownership of the export process to ensure requirements are fulfilled.
- Maintain the Export Board spreadsheet with complete accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Adhere to all Sims Metal policies, procedures, and standards relevant to the role.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Strong data entry and coordination skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently without supervision.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Solid literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude, integrity, and resourcefulness.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with BSM (Buy Sell Move) systems is desirable but not essential.
