Your new role

Reporting to the Non Ferrous Yard Manager, this role is primarily responsible for export scrap metal documentation.  you will be required to coordinate shipping for export containers, facilitate customs documentation and ensure everything is completed in a timely and accurate manner.  Whilst ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of logistics in relation to ferrous and non ferrous exports are strictly adhered to and fulfilled as per the Export Logistics Manual.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for all scheduling of export requirements and ensuring deadlines are met including EDN & PRA lodgments.
  • Coordinate cargoes and liaise, in conjunction with the Yard Manager, Trading Manager, Internal Shipping Coordinators, and Regional Operations Manager regarding export requirements.
  • Liaise with Yard Managers to ensure the yards comply with export requirements. 
  • Export Coordinator is fully responsible for ensuring all export requirements are met and fulfilled.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the Export Board spreadsheet is kept accurate and up to date. 
  • Comply with all Sims Metal policies, standards and procedures to the position.

  • Ability to work effectively and prioritise tasks without supervision.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with time management and planning.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and mathematical skills.
  • Self-driven, with a positive attitude, integrity and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

BSM (Buy Sell Move) experience desirable but not essential
