Your responsibilities will include:

• Belt Picking - picking copper, aluminium, non-conforming material from Conveyor Belt
• Cleaning - hosing down, shovelling and all general cleaning around Plant to keep tidy
• Operate equipment, including forklift, bobcats and/or dingo (where licensed)
• Sort and pick different types of metals and materials from the conveyor belt
• Remove prohibited items like gas bottles, rechargeable batteries, safes, and other non-shreddable materials from the yard
• Participate in routine maintenance tasks as needed
• Ensure customers receive a high level of service
• Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

• Forklift (LF) license Required
• Skid Steer desirable but not essential
• Ability to work independently
• A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training in order to diversify your skills
• Ability to pass a fitness test, including drug and alcohol screening
• Excellent attendance, reliability and attention to detail

It’s an added advantage but not essential if you have:

• Previous knowledge and understanding of scrap metal processing
