Our Broadmeadows site has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven team member to step into a Yard Supervisor role. This position is ideal for those looking to take the next step in their career, or for current employees interested in transferring from another VIC yard.
The Role
As Yard Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the yard. Working closely with the Yard Manager and Trading Manager, you will support the team to meet production targets, uphold safety and quality standards, and build a positive, engaged workplace culture.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll also operate machinery when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the yard operations team, promoting a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality requirements
- Monitor quality and classification of incoming materials
- Drive performance to meet KPI targets and recommend improvements
- Support buying practices in line with site and business standards
- Analyse production data to identify opportunities to improve yields
- Operate machinery as required to assist daily operations
- Foster communication and engagement across the team
