Team Leader | Join Our Pinkenba Team
We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and outcome-focused Team Leader to lead daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable achievement of production targets.
This role reports to the Plant Supervisor, responsible for the scrap metal processing, quality control, and plant operations.
As this is a newly constructed facility, you will join us during the commissioning phase to gain a deep understanding of the plant’s infrastructure. Once the site is fully operational, you will transition into leading the plant operations team to success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide clear leadership and daily support to the yard operations staffs
- Allocate work and resources to meet daily productivity and quality targets
- Role model and enforce safe work practices, maintaining a tidy site in compliance with WHS/OHS policies
- Oversee quality inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Operating machinery safely, including forklifts and telehandler (subject to licensing)
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising teams, allocating work, and measuring productivity (preferably in automotive or heavy machinery environment)
- A Forklift license and significant operational experience.
- Proven leadership skills coupled with a strong, self-motivated, and flexible approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships quickly.
- Effective planning, scheduling, and time management skills.
- A can-do attitude and openness to undertaking new training to expand your skillset.
