Plant Supervisor | Join Our Pinkenba Team

We are seeking an experienced and outcome-focused Plant Supervisor to oversee daily operations. In this role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable achievement of all production targets.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the scrap metal processing, quality control, maintenance, and operations.

As this is a newly constructed facility, you will join us during the commissioning phase to gain a deep understanding of the plant’s infrastructure. Once the plant is fully operational, you will transition into leading the plant operations team to success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead daily production operations and stock management to ensure maximum efficiency, optimal inventory flow, and the highest quality of recovered materials.
  • Supervise the operational team to maintain consistent performance, achieve production targets, and drive a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee maintenance planning and perform hands-on technical tasks, including blade changes, routine technical maintenance, and urgent breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Coordinate production schedules and optimise resource utilisation while monitoring requirement performance to identify and troubleshoot faults.
  • Coach and mentor Team Leaders and Operators to build site-wide capability and manage individual performance effectively.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, health, and safety standards, oversee staff training, and maintain compliance with all site operating procedures.

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years supervising operations within waste management, heavy industry, or a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve production issues, supported by a mechanical background.
  • Proven ability to lead others with a self-motivated and flexible approach
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and time management capabilities.
  • A can-do attitude and genuine desire to undertake new training and expand your skillset.
  • A trade qualification (e.g., Fitter) is highly regarded; this role is ideal for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor looking to transition into a Production Leadership career.
  • A valid Forklift license and significant operational experience are highly desirable.

In return, we offer:

  • A competitive salary
  • On-the-job training, with certified tickets and opportunities for career progression
  • Opportunity to further develop your leadership skills with a pathway to managerial positions
