Maintenance / Trade Assistant | Join Our Pinkenba Team
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to join your growing team at our newly constructed Pinkenba facility. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who is hands-on, eager to learn, and looking to build a career in the metal recycling and heavy industry sector.
As this is a newly constructed facility, you will join us during the commissioning phase. This is a unique chance to learn the “ins and outs” of our plant infrastructure from day one. You will provide vital support to our maintenance team and operators, helping to ensure the site runs safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Plant Supervisor and Team Leader with daily tasks to keep production moving.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance, spares management, and ensuring a tidy, hazard-free workplace.
- Following all WHS/OHS procedures and acting as a second set of eyes to ensure a safe work environment.
- Observing and learning new maintenance work, assisting with technical tasks like blade changes.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- A strong work ethic and the ability to show up on time, ready to work
- A can-do mindset and a genuine willingness to take direction and learn new skills.
- The ability to perform manual tasks and work in a hands-on, outdoor industrial environment
- A natural commitment to looking out for yourself and your teammates.
- A driver’s license is required. A forklift license and any other trade qualification are a major plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
In return, we offer:
- A competitive salary and overtime
- On-the-job training, with certified tickets and opportunities for career progression
- Opportunity to further develop your leadership skills with a pathway to managerial positions
