The role

A new opportunity has become available for a Trade Assistant / Maintenance professional to join our team in Auckland. Report to the Maintenance Supervisor to support the team with plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring maximum efficiency and output of the yard.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant, equipment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work diligently according to routine maintenance plans, accurately completing all relevant maintenance records.
  • Assist production team members with their general duties as required
  • Ensure all works are carried out in strict adherence to our site safety, environment, and quality standards.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in a similar position with a flexible approach to working with operations and maintenance
  • A high attention to detail; you are motivated to achieve quality work in a safe manner
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of the engineering processes, particularly in general Welding and Oxy cutting

 

Desirable criteria:

  • A Forklift ticket and/or Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) certification
  • Experience working with heavy engineering equipment, with a background in mechanical engineering, welding, and conveyor operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering processes and principles
