Reporting to the Yard Leading Hand, you will safely operate machinery in order to sort, grade, and purchase metals. Full training will be provided for the successful applicants!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating heavy machinery (Material Handler and/or Excavator/Shear and/or Skid Steer/Bobcat) and Production Plant.
- Good problem-solving skills and an outstanding eye for detail.
- Good planning and prioritising skills.
- Strong focus on safety, boots on the ground, assisting to keep the warehouse clean and tidy.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Attention to detail – This role will be working with metals, requiring the position to be able to identify, separate, and process material.
- A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training in order to diversify your skills.
- Excellent attendance, reliability, and ability to work in a Team environment but also unsupervised.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a machine/plant operator or similar position (e.g. material handler, excavator/shear, skid steer/bobcat, or production plant).
Desirable criteria:
- Forklift, WTR endorsements preferred.
- Experience in the Metal Recycling Industry which involved metal sorting & processing techniques or other relevant industries.
- Experience in operating other heavy machinery or production plants.
