The Opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Trade Assistant to join our Auckland maintenance team.

This position will see you working afternoon shifts to support the team with plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring maximum efficient and output for the yard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant, equipment, and other continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Working in accordance with routine maintenance plans and completing relevant maintenance records
• Assisting production team members with their general duties as required
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with our site safety, environmental and quality procedures

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

• Experience in a maintenance position requiring collaboration with operations, demonstrating flexibility in responding to equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs
• Heavy engineering / equipment experience, with a background in Hydraulics, welding, and conveyor operations
• A high attention to detail, you are motivated to achieve quality work in a safe manner
• Willing and able to complete a medical, in line with the requirements of the role
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment

It will be an added advantage if you have:

• A Forklift ticket
• Knowledge and understanding of engineering processes
