Are you a registered electrician with a strong technical mind and a passion for continuous engineering improvement? We are looking for an experience Industrial Electrician to drive the reliability, safety, and performance of our heavy industrial plant and machinery across our New Zealand network.

 

This isn't just a basic breakdown-response role. While you’ll be the self-reliant expert for complex fault-finding, you will also work independently to manage your own high-risk permits, execute safe isolations, and proactively identify and implement smart engineering enhancements to boost our material recovery rates and productivity.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver high-level electrical maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and rapid breakdown response to minimize plant downtime.
  • Coordinate daily electrical tasks, supervise contractors, and actively support the training and development of junior staff and apprentices.
  • Investigate, research, and propose electrical engineering enhancements to optimize aging assets and increase production efficiency.
  • Take personal responsibility for safe systems of work, overseeing high-risk isolations (LOTO), permits, and ensuring absolute compliance with WorkSafe NZ and AS/NZS standards.

 

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • A current, unrestricted NZ Practising Licence (Registered Electrician) is essential.
  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent Trade Qualification. (A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or higher apprenticeship is highly regarded).
  • Current, valid qualifications for Working at Heights and EWP (Elevating Work Platforms).
  • 5+ years of experience working with heavy industrial machinery, manufacturing, or processing environments.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within our NZ network.
