Job Summary

Inspects materials coming in to be in compliance with company’s scrap acceptance policy and procedures by performing the following duties.

 

Key Responsibilities

•    Examines company's records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality tests.
•    Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
•    Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations.
•    Demonstrate personal responsibility for, and ensure compliance with, all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives within team
•    Promote diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork, and ensure all workers within team are treated fairly and equitably 
•    Support and recommend continuous improvement initiatives and foster compliance with quality requirements
•    Support and ensure team compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives 

 

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.        
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•    Knowledge of ferrous and non ferrous material, preferred  
•    Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
