Job Summary:

 

Inspects materials coming in to be in compliance with company’s scrap acceptance policy and procedures by performing the following duties.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examines company's records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality tests.
  • Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
  • Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.        
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
