The Field Service Technician will be responsible for driving a lorry containing a shredder to our customers’ sites, where you will wipe and shred hard drives on site. You will part of a team working out of Yately for our SLS business.

 

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Maintaining the vehicle, ensuring it is fully operational and clean inside and out
  • Complete daily checks on vehicle
  • Maintenance of the shredders
  • Managing spare parts manifest
  • Managing all testing required for the vehicles (LOLER tester, Pat testing, PMI testing)
  • Managing Servicing of vehicles
  • General maintenance of Yard and vehicles
  • Driving SSD van and HDD Trucks
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Support diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork
  • Support measures designed to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirements
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to job
  • Support training and performance-management initiatives

 

Key Skills/Competencies

  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to prioritise and manage workload independently

 

Qualifications

  • Class 2 HGV Licence
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience maintaining mechanical vehicles and machines
  • EHS knowledge would be an advantage
  • IT literate to include Excel and Word, training can be given on company specific software
